Grants
The KAB Commission has created programs to reduce litter, encourage recycling, and promote beautification and community improvement that have generated enthusiastic response from community groups and local governments throughout the state. The Keep Arkansas Beautiful Foundation is challenged with sustaining this positive impact by building perpetual capital to underwrite programs that cannot be funded by the 1 percent of the eighth-cent Conservation Tax, that is the Commission’s sole source of funding.
Keep Arkansas Beautiful will be offering grants to help support Keep America Beautiful affiliates in Arkansas with continued education opportunities at the 2024 Keep America Beautiful National Conference.
Grant budget: $2,500, five grants will be available within this amount. Application time frame: Nov. 1-Nov. 30 Award timeframe: December Awardees must agree and comply with: Submitting proof of conference registration after which the affiliate will receive a grant to reimburse for $500 worth of the registration. Registration does not guarantee grants will be awarded.
GREEN
EVENT GRANT
Keep Arkansas Beautiful will be offering grants to help support either cleanup events afford more cleanup supplies for their efforts or other community events seeking ways to reduce their environmental impact and need financial assistance to implement.
Grant budget: $2,000, four grants will be available within this amount. Application time frame: Nov. 1-Nov. 30 Award timeframe: December Awardees must agree and comply with: Submitting proof of purchased materials for event. This grant will be a reimbursement type grant. This grant cannot be used for any supplies that KAB currently offers for free excluding promotional materials such as volunteer shirts. Items excluded from reimbursement include: trash bags, gloves and safety vests. Awardees must provide results of effort the grant funds were used to support. Items that qualify for reimbursement: Litter removal materials: litter grabbers trash volunteer apparel community signage trash boom Recycling materials: recycling receptacles recycling signage Beautification materials: yard/landscaping equipment seeds, plants, shrubs trees community signage paint

Grant budget: $2,500, one grant School must be a participant in Trex’s recycling challenge to be able to receive the award.
Keep Arkansas Beautiful is establishing its first trash boom grant that will provide funding to nonprofit organizations, schools, or city governments seeking to capture litter before it flows further downstream. Funding will be utilized for the development, installation and maintenance of trash booms.
Grant budget: $13,000, five grants will be available within this amount. Application timeframe: July 1-June 30 Award timeframe: July 1-June 30 Awardees must agree and comply with: At minimum a once a month litter removal and maintenance of the boom Report to KAB monthly how many pounds of litter was removed and other relatable data Installation of educational signage for the public to understand the purpose of the trash boom This grant is not available for the maintenance of any current trash booms.
